Been to some serious deep, dark and depraved depths in my quest for the Truth. Seen some horrific things that will forever be burned into this mortal mind.
God came with me.
His ARMY protected me.
His LOVE saved my heart.
His PEACE, which passes all understanding, let me know that HE KNOWS all that I saw.
He reminded me that Vengeance is His, He WILL repay.
NO ONE escapes God's Justice, and I thank Him for that, daily.
I also thank the brave, dedicated and committed men and women who have been battling this evil depravity, and whom we shall never know their names. They have truly given their all, up to and including their lives, to DO what MUST be done, in the dark, in the depths,, in the depravity. They will FOREVER have a place in my heart.

I, too, am one who could care less what people think of me, cuz as far as I'm concerned, only ONE name matters in the end, and it ain't any of theirs!

Before I drop a few tidbits in here for you to view, I gotta point out that your friend, the atheist (each to their own, as long as no one else gets hurt), contradicted himself in a pretty big way. He stated, "At a certain point, you have to take a side and whatever side you choose to be on, right, I'm always on the side of looking out for humanity and what's true and what's good and beautiful, right. But at the end of the day, you have to throw in with somebody, otherwise everybody won't trust you, right."

So if it is indeed God shaking the fence right now, and He IS, perhaps your friend should re-examine WHY he is so proud to be an atheist, and which side he would actually like to land on, considering there are ONLY two sides to this thing. For someone who is so sure in his choice, he sure was fidgety when talking about it. I pray he chooses wisely.
Also, opinions do not override God's Word.
He also, unknowingly I surmise, stated the mantra of the cabal. "If I tell you that I'm gonna screw you over, and you let me, that's on you," whereby all onus is taken off of the offender and put onto the victim. NOT saying he is a part of the evil corrupt elitist in their own mind cabal, but daaaamn!
[They] have been putting out EXACTLY what [they] were going to do to us for decades. Covertly. In symbols. In movies. In "the news." Even Disney. [They] deem for "karma" sake that [they] MUST tell us before [they] do it, but it's never like, "So heyyyyy, just gonna depop y'all with this here lil ole innocent death shot." It's the SNAKE wrapped around EVERY medical symbol that shoulda told us, IF we had been awake and not brainwashed! Gates did in his Club 300 speech, where none of us ever go. Oh ya, and the Georgia Guidestones.
But I digress.
